Dr. Ashoka Subedar is a Dual Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Implant Specialist with over 25 years of experience. He offers comprehensive oral and maxillofacial care, including dental implant surgery, wisdom teeth removal, corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology treatment, and facial reconstruction. Dr. Subedar is known for his skill and precision, often being referred to for complex cases.
Originally from northern Manitoba, Canada, Dr. Subedar earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Manitoba. He served as a Captain (Dental) in the Canadian Armed Forces, excelling in both Periodontal Surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami under the mentorship of Internationally renowned surgeon Dr. Robert Marx, earning the distinguished Professor's Cup for excellence in surgical performance.

Dr. Subedar is among a select group of oral and maxillofacial surgeons nationwide who voluntarily maintain dual board certification. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology – an added layer of certification that requires ongoing education. Diplomate status distinguishes surgeons with superior training and expertise in the administration of IV sedation and anesthesia, as recognized by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and confirms a high level of proficiency in managing pain and anxiety.
Dr. Subedar has practiced in various locations, including Winnipeg, Oklahoma, and Spokane, before settling in Bellingham, Washington, where he has served the community for over 25 years. He personally designed and constructed two modern state-of-the-art offices to offer patients the highest standard of care.
Beyond patient care, Dr. Subedar has contributed to professional education as an Affiliated Instructor at the University of Washington, a Lecturer at the University of Alberta, and a Keynote Speaker at Arizona State University. He has mentored local implant study clubs, volunteered surgical care for children with sports-related injuries, and traveled internationally to provide oral surgery services where access was limited.
Among his myriad of interests Dr. Subedar is an avid hockey player and enjoys wilderness adventures with his wife.
